Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Vinh Long (-/L/D)
Mekong Delta Daily life
Start from your hotel at 8AM for 2.5 hours drive escaping the crowded and chaotic Saigon for Vinh Long Province deep in the Mekong delta.
With the total length of more than 4,800 km starts from Tibet in China running though other 5 countries including Burma, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam before reaching the sea, Mekong is the world's 12th-longest river. With millions tons of silt carried along its current, the River has day by day filled up the Mekong delta (Cuu Long delta in Vietnamese) and made it the largest and most fertile land in the country.

The Delta is home of beautiful tropical fruits, vegetable and rice that make up almost half of Vietnam's total agricultural output.
Making coconut candy
Upon arrival in Vinh Long we will take a boat cruise on the mighty Mekong River. The first stop will be made for you to visit the local cottage industry where you will observe the manual working process with mud, clay and fire to make simple but beautiful bricks and potteries.
Cross the river and get to a beautiful green island where you will have lunch in a local home restaurant. After lunch, our boat will take you on a fascinating cruise on meandering canals through green villages with spectacular sights of local life on the banks and activities on the waterway. You will then take a rowing boat trip on litter canal to visit a local home with bonsai garden and sample fresh tropical fruits.

Get back to the boat and cruise to another island for home stay tonight. Check in local home and enjoy a short walk around the villages through orchards and farm and chat with locals to learn about their life and traditions. Enjoy dinner with local specialties and overnight home stay.
Day 2: Cai Be floating market – Ho Chi Minh City (B/-/-)
Early morning rowing
Get up early and enjoy the fresh air of peaceful country then take a visit to a local market where you can join with local for morning purchasing of food stuffs and so on. Breakfast of local style then say goodbye to your host for a cruise to visit the quaint Cai Be floating market. Here, at the junction of the river, hundreds of boats gather to sell and buy local products that come from different corners of the delta. Soak up the sight, sound and smell as you weave your way through boats with columns hanging fruits or any farming products on top as a type of advertisement.
Making rolling cake
Continue with visit to a local village on the river bank where you will learn how people here make stuffs such as rice paper, fish sauce, coconut candy, pop corn and so on. Following by the cruise to Cai Be pier where you will take bus for your drive back to Ho Chi Minh City. On the way you will take a visit to Vinh Trang Pagoda, an ancient southern architectural gem in My Tho, Tien Giang Province. Trip finishes in Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon. End of service.
